The legal regulation is based on the medium and environment that is expected by the current state of the economy and society. Employment policy, together with social policy, is influenced by economic policy, which also influences the competence, motivation and attitude to work of members of society. Labour legislation is under pressure to change worldwide. New employment/working methods, in particular the entry of digital platforms into the economy and the labour market, are challenging the whole conceptual framework of traditional labour law (employer, employee, labour law, employer and employee representation). This conceptual shift raises theoretical and practical problems. Contractuality is at the heart of the new methods, which in many cases transcend the employment contract, and the relationship between employer and employee is often based on a private contract. This raises the need to rethink the relationship between labour law and private law, and to examine the effectiveness and applicability of the instruments of protection under labour law. A particularly sensitive area in this context is the relationship between competition law and collective action in the context of the reassessment of the concept of trade union. The aim of the research is to analyse current economic and employment trends, to examine the traditional conceptual and regulatory framework of labour law, to analyse international trends and to formulate alternatives for domestic employment policy and labour law regulation.
