HUN-REN Withdraws the Calls for Applications for Director General Positions at Its Research Institutions

In light of the Hungarian Government’s plans to restructure the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network, HUN-REN is withdrawing the international calls for applications announced this spring for Director General positions at its research institutions.

In April 2026, HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network launched the international calls for applications for the selection of Directors General of HUN-REN research institutions.

Given the government’s plans to restructure the network, HUN-REN is withdrawing the announced calls for applications and closing the ongoing application procedures. The director general positions will be subject to appointment once the new rules governing HUN-REN take effect, with the decisions resting with the relevant decision makers.

In view of the above the applicants will also receive a notification of the decision. All application materials and personal data submitted by applicants will be deleted in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations.
